Batavia taking applications for alderman vacancy
Applications are due July 22 for candidates seeking appointment to replace Dan Chanzit as the alderman for the 3rd Ward in Batavia.
Chanzit resigned July 1 after 14 years on the council.
The application form is available on the city’s website at batavia.il.gov. The candidates will be interviewed by the city council July 30, then appointed by the mayor and sworn in Aug. 5.
