Freedom Classic 5K run/walk in Mundelein

The 45th annual Freedom Classic 5K run/walk kicks off at 8 a.m. July 4 from the Dunbar Recreation Center, 888 Dunbar Road in Mundelein.

The route goes through scenic Loch Lomond and Keith Mione Community Park in the professionally chip-timed course. After the race, participants can grab a patriotic doughnut and refreshments.

Overall first male and female finishers will receive a $100 cash award.

Cost is $45 in advance and $50 day of the event. Register at mundeleinparks.org.
