Huntley church to offer program on social integration for seniors

The concept of “social integration” will be defined and explored at the Next Step Fellowship Group for seniors at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main St., Huntley.

Conducted by Pastor Bill Waxenberg and Phyllis Thomson, Ph.D., RN, CNE, the group will discuss the importance and value of community, fellowship, and purpose in the senior years.

The concept of “social integration” will be defined and discussed, as well as the potential positive and negative health consequences related to both the lack of, and use of, socialization.

Following the presentation, Pastor Waxenberg will conduct a Bible study on the gift and importance of community.
