Hanover Township Mental Health Board Approves Funding

The Hanover Township Mental Health Board approved $8,546 in funding at their May 28 meeting at the Township Senior Center.

The board awarded $2,546 in Staff Development Funding to Marklund for nurses to attend an upcoming conference to receive training on patient treatment for youth that require round-the-clock medical care and live in long term health facilities. The agency currently houses 60 individuals with medically complex developmental disabilities at the Wasmond Center in Hanover Township.

The Ecker Center for Behavioral Health received $6,000 in Capital Funds for security system upgrades at their Grandstand Office in Elgin. Ecker serves over 1,000 Township residents annually.

The board also recognized the contributions and service from outgoing members Kristen Cruthers and Kathy Biesiadecki. Both have served on the board for many years holding leadership positions at different times throughout their tenure.

The Mental Health Board will meet next on August 27 at 6:30PM at the Senior Center (240 S. IL Route 59, Bartlett).

Hanover Township serves over 100,000 residents in portions of the Cook County communities of Streamwood, Elgin, Bartlett, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg.
