Elgin Riverside Club names Adam Lindsten as 2024 Man of the Year

The Elgin Riverside Club honors Adam Lindsten as its 2024 Man of the Year.

Born in Evanston, Illinois, to Richard and Susan Lindsten, he grew up in Arlington Heights. After graduating from Rolling Meadows High School in 1991, he attended Augustana College where he was an active member of the Omicron Sigma Omicron fraternity.

Lindsten began his insurance career in 1998 and owns an independent agency in Mount Prospect. He is an active member of the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce, Mount Prospect Chamber, and Arlington Business Group.

Lindsten has called Elgin home since 2001, joining the Elgin Riverside Club in late 2016 after meeting up with friends at the club. One month later, he ran into a business associate after the fish fry, who later became his wife, Jodi, in 2019.

You will most likely find Lindsten behind a grill, smoker or in the kitchen. He has contributed to many events including Rib Fest, patio dinners, steak dinners, monthly fish fry and golf outings. He initiated tailgate parties, revitalized a lost tradition of Oktoberfest, and has served as a committee member and chef for the annual outdoor festival for the past two years. He also introduced the Grill Club which will begin this summer.

Lindsten was elected to the 2024 board as a trustee and welcomes his responsibilities to continue to make the Elgin Riverside Club the best it can be.

Outside of the Riverside, Lindsten enjoys spending time with family and friends, including his sister Heather (JR) of New Jersey, four nieces and nephews, and children by marriage, Luke and Makenzie Gaydusek. He currently plays bass in a band and enjoys the guitar as well. When traveling, you will often see his stand-up Jet Skis in tow.

The club will host a banquet honoring Lindsten on Saturday, June 15, at the Elgin Riverside Club, 21 Lincoln Ave. in Elgin. It will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Cost is $35 for prime rib, chicken or vegetarian entree.
