Grand Subaru hosts ‘Wheels and Meals’ community food drive and Summer Fling

Grand Subaru in Bensenville recently announced “Wheels and Meals,” a community food drive and summer fling event aimed at supporting local families in need while celebrating the arrival of warmer weather.

Throughout the month of June, Grand Subaru will be collecting nonperishable food donations at their dealership and at Green St. Grille. On Friday, June 21, the food drive will culminate in a fun-filled summer fling event from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Bensenville.

The community is encouraged to bring their donations to a designated drop-off station at the event, to support the efforts of the Bensenville/Wood Dale Food Pantry.

After contributing to the cause, attendees can enjoy an evening of festivities featuring an obstacle course, mini golf, face painting, and a car show featuring a variety of makes and models from Exotics to Race Cars and everything in between.

The free, family-friendly event will offer a variety of food options, including burgers from Green St. Grille, tacos from Cilantro’s, and complimentary ice cream.

“We’re thrilled to host this event that not only gives back to our community but also celebrates the start of summer,” said Ryan Drouin, general manager of Grand Subaru. “We invite everyone to join us for an evening of fun while supporting a great cause.”

All nonperishable food donations collected during the month of June will be donated to the Bensenville/Wood Dale Food Pantry. Grand Subaru aims to fill as many Subaru vehicles as possible to support those struggling with food insecurity in the area.
