Palatine man faces drug, weapons charges after investigation by police, postal inspectors
A Palatine man is facing drug and weapons charges after an investigation by Palatine police in partnership with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
Eric Alhourani, 25, of the 400 block of East Thornhill Lane, was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis between 500 and 2,000 grams, unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of possessing a firearm without a valid FOID card, according to police.
During Alhourani’s arrest, authorities reported recovering more than 1,300 grams of cannabis, 13 grams of psilocybin, a large quantity of U.S. currency and two handguns.
Palatine police said the joint effort between their department and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service underscores both agencies’ commitment to combating illegal drug distribution and related criminal activities in the community.
Alhourani was processed at the Palatine Police Department and later released. His next court appearance is on June 4 at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
