Boating safety course to be offered during Detroit Boat Show
DETROIT (AP) - Boaters will have an opportunity to learn more about the rules of the water during a safety course scheduled for next month's Detroit Boat Show.
The six-hour workshop will be held Feb. 21 and is free of charge. The boat show is joining with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Oakland County Marine Division to sponsor the event.
Detroit Boat Show Manager Nicki Polan says the class can help people operate watercraft more safely and often qualifies them for insurance discounts.
Space is limited and pre-registration is recommended.
The boat show will take place Feb. 14-22 at Cobo Center in Detroit.
