Lincolnshire Awards 2023 Officer of the Year
The Lincolnshire Police Department recognized Officer Bob Skrobot as the 2023 Officer of the Year at the regular village board meeting on Monday, April 29. Officer of the Year is annual award given to law enforcement officers who have demonstrated exceptional performance, dedication, and service.
“Officer Skrobot exemplifies the values of our department, embodying integrity, compassion, and a tireless commitment to keeping our community safe. Being selected Officer of the Year is a prestigious honor and is a testament to Officer Skrobot’s performance and unwavering commitment to excellence,” Chief of Police Joseph Leonas said.
Officer Skrobot is the officer assigned to the mental health Crisis Outreach And Support Team program with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. While in COAST, he followed up on mental health calls for service not only in Lincolnshire but throughout the entire Lake County area. Officer Skrobot has also remained active in several department initiatives including the hiring committee, policy committee, and Reimaging and Reinventing Policing in Lincolnshire committee.
As a member of the crime prevention team, Officer Skrobot completed several community presentations throughout the year and assisted with other matters such as home security surveys, external safety presentations, and other community outreach programs.
Officer Skrobot is appreciated for his outstanding work ethic and desire to always improve and is recognized as someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty to protect and serve the Lincolnshire community.
