Detroit-area siblings have babies 5 minutes apart

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (AP) - A brother and sister each welcomed the birth of boys just minutes apart at the same hospital in suburban Detroit.

Mika Washington gave birth to a son before dawn Thursday. Five minutes later, her brother's girlfriend had a boy, also at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.

The babies' grandmother, Maria Gay of Pontiac, tells The Oakland Press (http://bit.ly/14GTVj5 ) that she knew the cousins would be born close together - but not that close.

Gay says, "We'll have a story to tell them forever."

Washington and brother Matthew Gay also live in the same apartment complex in Waterford.
