Brewer barber struck by car dies at hospital

BREWER, Maine (AP) - Police say a longtime Brewer barber struck by a car as he crossed the street on his way to work earlier this month has died of his injuries.

Police say 73-year-old David Grant was struck near city hall as he crossed North Main Street early in the morning of Dec. 20.

He died at a Bangor hospital on Monday.

The car that struck Grant was driven by a Bucksport woman who has not been charged.

The investigation into the death is ongoing, and police say all evidence will eventually be turned over to the district attorney's office, which will determine whether to bring charges.
