Pavement work begins Monday on Grand Avenue in Gurnee

Crack and joint sealing on Grand Avenue (Illinois 132), from east of Hunt Club Road to Ferndale Street in Gurnee, will require daily, intermittent lane closures beginning, weather permitting, Monday.

The project consists of routing, cleaning and sealing cracks along the 3.5-mile stretch of Grand Avenue to extend its useful life. New pavement markings also will be added.

The work is expected to be complete in late June. Drivers can expect delays, should allow extra time for trips through the area, and be alert for workers and equipment.
