Honoring trees?

Here’s a bit of irony.

The village of Buffalo Grove spent multiples of tens of thousands of dollars to brand itself with an emphasis on the “Grove” part by wrapping the BG Buffalo in leaves. Yet almost at the same time, the village is going to cut down a mile-long section of trees (some 50 to 70 years old) along Bernard Drive to build a bicycle path/walkway where an existing sidewalk is.
