Zoo in Michigan welcomes 2-year-old kangaroo from Indiana
SAGINAW, Mich. (AP) - A zoo in Michigan has a new resident: A kangaroo.
The Saginaw News and WNEM-TV report the 2-year-old eastern grey kangaroo named Andre has joined a Saginaw Children's Zoo kangaroo named Nikki, who has been in Saginaw since 2005. Seventeen-year-old Nikki is considered an elderly kangaroo.
Both kangaroos moved to Saginaw from the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo in Indiana.
The Saginaw zoo is closed for the season. The Outback Walkabout exhibit that will house Andre operates between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
The zoo last welcomed new animals in September, when two African penguins, Bamm-Bamm and Robben, came to stay.
