Melbourne City easy winners over Newcastle Jets in A-League
SYDNEY (AP) - Melbourne City continued its high-scoring form, beating Newcastle 4-0 on Sunday to move into third place in the A-League.
City has scored 14 goals over their past three games to close to within five points of league leader Western Sydney. Aaron Mooy and Bruno Fornaroli scored twice each to lead City to their fifth win in 10 matches with two draws.
In earlier weekend matches, Western Sydney moved four points clear in first place with a 2-0 win over third-placed Melbourne Victory, and second-placed Brisbane beat Wellington 2-1.
Fourth-place Sydney FC dropped six points behind - level on points with the Victory - after losing 2-1 to Adelaide United
