Indiana players visit 9/11 Memorial before Pinstripe Bowl
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - The Indiana football team spent Christmas morning visiting the 9/11 Memorial in New York.
The Hoosiers are in New York as they prepare to play Duke on Saturday in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. The (Bloomington) Herald-Times reports (http://bit.ly/1NQ8e46 ) that team members took a walking tour of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum on Friday morning before they visited the stadium.
Senior wide receiver Andre Booker says he was young when the attacks happened but seeing the memorial "really makes a lot more sense." Booker said "it's really emotional, really upsetting and I'm glad we got to come and see it all."
The visit to the memorial ended nearly a week of game preparation and sightseeing in New York for the Hoosiers.
