Rosemont residents getting money from village

Rosemont property owners are eligible once again to receive grants from the village as part of an annual program.

More than $13 million has been given to residents since the village's owner-occupied residential property grant program started 21 years ago. While intended for home improvement projects, the money can be used how residents see fit.

This year, the village is offering a maximum grant of $4,168, up from the $4,055 offered last year. The grants are awarded based on a formula involving property values.

Residents can apply for the grants with an application available on the village's website or at village hall. They must pay income tax if the grant exceeds $600.

The deadline to apply is Nov. 30.
