Ohio man was walking bike before being struck in Michigan
PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say an Ohio man who died after being hit by an SUV in Michigan was walking his bike at the time he was struck.
The Ann Arbor News reports (http://bit.ly/1KVu1IC ) the investigation into Friday's death of 43-year-old Michael Ankney of Defiance, Ohio, is ongoing.
The driver, a 43-year-old Clinton resident, was attempting to pass a vehicle making a left turn when Ankney was struck in Washtenaw County's Pittsfield Township, near Ann Arbor. Ankney was taken to a hospital, where authorities say he was pronounced dead.
The diver was taken to a hospital and later released. Pittsfield Township Deputy Police Chief Gordy Schick says in an email that no charges have been filed.
