Barrington 220 wins education award from Apple
The One to World laptop program at Barrington Area Unit School District 220 has been named an Apple Distinguished Program for the 2016-2017 school year.
The Apple Distinguished Program designation is reserved for programs that meet criteria for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence, and demonstrate a clear vision of exemplary learning environments, according to the district.
"Our goal as a district is to prepare students to be successful in their future endeavors, and that would not be possible without the One to World program and the opportunities it provides our students," Superintendent Brian Harris said in a news release.
The district's laptop program started in the 2014-2015 school year.
