Geneva RR crossing to be closed for repairs

The Third Street railroad crossing in Geneva will be closed Friday through Monday while two defective rails are repaired.

The Union Pacific railroad will close the crossing midmorning Friday, Geneva police announced Thursday.

Traffic will be detoured to First Street (Route 31) and Fulton Street.

People who park in the south lot of the Metra train station will still be able to walk across the tracks to get to the station to board trains.
