Indiana police chief crashes into SUV on courthouse square
SULLIVAN, Ind. (AP) - A western Indiana police chief heading to an emergency call crashed into an SUV on the city's courthouse square.
State Police say Sullivan Police Chief Jesse Morin was responding to a 911 call when the crash occurred about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The Sullivan Daily Times reports (http://bit.ly/1P6ZrgH ) Morin's police car had its siren on and was speeding to a reported disturbance at a home when the SUV stopped in an intersection just before the crash. Morin tried to brake but ran into the driver's side of the SUV.
Both the SUV driver and Morin were released after treatment at a hospital. Morin says he suffered a stiff neck.
The chief said he believed his driving was appropriate.
