Heavy snow, wintry mix heads toward Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana residents who've already endured a record-breaking and punishing winter are bracing for yet another big winter storm.

A winter storm warning covers central and southern Indiana for Sunday through Monday morning, while a winter weather advisory is posted for Indiana's northern third.

The National Weather Service says the heaviest snowfall amounts are expected along central Indiana's Interstate 70 corridor, where between 5 and 8 inches of snow could fall.

Northern Indiana could get 4 to 6 inches of snow, while south-central and southern Indiana could receive 3 to 6 inches of snow and sleet.

Significant ice accumulations of up to a quarter-inch are expected over far southern Indiana, where freezing rain will mix with snow and sleet.

Hazardous travel conditions are expected across the entire state Sunday
