Letter: Complainers don't understand systems

I am sick and tired of hearing seniors, of whom I am one, complaining about local taxes.

Especially troublesome was the gentleman who complained about his property taxes (he can always appeal his tax bill) funding schools after his kids were no longer in the system. Really?

Why don't we stop paying Social Security after we reached the amount we paid into that system? See the similarities there.

Or the person who wanted the education tax requirements shifted to the state. Like our state doesn't have enough funding issues.

Lest we forget the whiners who don't seem to understand the long-term benefit, financial and otherwise, of the Bears moving to Arlington Heights. Do they not understand all the lost revenue to the village and small businesses with very limited tax revenue being generated by a large and now decaying piece of prime real estate?

In this great country people have the right to live where they choose. Perhaps for all those complainers a look into a senior community might be the best option.

Three's nothing better than a young vibrant community with excellent schools.
