U.S. Navy Band Cruisers to play in Barrington Aug. 30
Barrington has been chosen as one of 14 cities in five states to host the U.S. Navy Band Cruisers in concert this fall. The performance is at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30 at the Barrington High School auditorium, 616 W. Main St. The Cruisers are eight of the Navy's most dynamic performers, who play rhythm and blues, pop, classic rock, adult contemporary, jazz and standards, plus original material. "Today, we have sailors performing around the world, improving relations with our allies abroad as well as telling the Navy story here at home," said Cmdr. Kenneth Collins, the Navy Band's commanding officer. All Navy Band performances are free to the public. Visit the band's website at http://www.navyband.navy.mil/national_tour.shtml.
