Hawks stay on roll by beating Bulls

The Bulls got a great look at the best the Eastern Conference has to offer.

The Atlanta Hawks have been on an absolute tear, winning 11 in a row and 25 out of 27 before Saturday's visit to the United Center.

Make that 12 wins in a row for the Hawks. The Bulls struggled all night to stay within striking distance and never got there, losing 107-99 to fall 6 ½ games behind Atlanta in the East standings.

The stars of the game for the Hawks were ex-Bull Kyle Korver and center Al Horford. Korver drained 7 of 9 shots from behind the 3-point line for 24 points, while Horford looked more like the son of Tim Duncan than Tito Horford, hitting 11 of 14 shots for 22 points.

For the Bulls, Derrick Rose finished with 23 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds. He hit 4 3-pointers, all in the third quarter. Pau Gasol added 22 points and 15 rebounds.

The Bulls (27-15) struggled to score for long stretches, then when they pulled within 5 in the fourth quarter, they could never get a defensive stop. The Hawks (33-8) are clearly no fluke, having beaten Toronto by 21 points on Friday.
