Indianapolis-based nonprofit moving headquarters to Carmel

CARMEL, Ind. (AP) - An Indianapolis-based nonprofit is moving its headquarters into a new $22 million building in Carmel.

The Liberty Fund plans to build a 63,000-square-foot building on an 8.5-acre site along U.S. 31 in Carmel. The Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/1WtowJy ) reports that the centerpiece of the facility will be a specialized library wing containing the organization's 50,000-book collection that's been amassed over the past 50 years.

The collection includes original documents from America's founding and rare editions of works by Adam Smith, author of that laissez-faire classic "The Wealth of Nations."

The building also will house offices, a cafeteria and conference space surrounding an inner courtyard.

The Liberty Fund plans to move into the new facility next December.
