Barrington Wine Walk is April 12

The merchants in downtown Barrington will host a Spring Wine Walk from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 12, to kick off the shopping season for spring and summer merchandise, and highlight Easter and Mother's Day gifts.

The event will offer free wine tastings and other tasty treats. More than 20 shops and eight restaurants and wine merchants are participating. Customers can begin the Wine Walk at any participating business by picking up a location map. Participants include:

• Village Center Merchants: Acacia Organics, Anderson's Candy Shop, Angelina, Barrington Flower Shop, Bravura Home & Gift Shop, Gene Ann's Yarns, Grassroots, Mia Sorella, Notice, Solisq, The Annex, Urban Flair and Vin Chicago.

• Norton's U.S.A. on Lageschulte Street.

• Chessie's Restaurant will offer wine tastings at The Ice House Mall on behalf of the Barrington Cultural Arts Center, Once in a Blue Moon, Paris Market Antiques, Savvy Spirit, Tina Hahn Gallery, Tommy Terri and Tootsies.

• Barrington Commons merchants Carol and Company, and Fleur de Lis Salon.

The Spring Wine Walk Wine Walk is a fun way for shoppers and visitors to experience the shops and restaurants in downtown Barrington, the Shops on Lageschulte, Barrington Commons and Ice House Mall.

The wines are being provided by Heinen's Fine Foods, Near Restaurant, Cooper's, The Annex, McGonigal's Pub, Grassroots, Vin Chicago and Chessie's.
