Aurora Kiwanis to honor volunteer Laura Martinez

Longtime community volunteer Laura Martinez will be honored at the Kiwanis Club of Aurora's 41st God and Fellowman Award dinner for her spiritual and charitable contributions to the community.

Martinez, this year's recipient of the annual award, is involved in a variety of community initiatives and activities that affect the lives of children and families.

Fox Valley United Way, CompaƱeros en Salud, CASA Kane County, Mental Health Board and the Dominican Literacy Center are just a few of the agencies with which she is involved. She was chosen from among the nominees submitted to the club.

The award dinner starts with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at Gaslite Manor, 2485 Church Road, Aurora.
