Evansville man fatally shot when gun teen was handling fires
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Southwestern Indiana police say an Evansville man was fatally shot when a handgun a teenager was recklessly handling discharged.
Police say the gun the 15-year-old was handling inside a house discharged about 2 a.m. Saturday and the bullet penetrated a wall and struck the victim, who was in another room.
The Evansville Courier & Press reports (http://bit.ly/1Lbyude ) the Vanderburgh County Coroner's office has identified the victim as 18-year-old Diamante Killebrew, who was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The 15-year-old suspect is being held in a juvenile center on preliminary charges of reckless homicide, involuntary manslaughter, criminal recklessness and possession of a handgun without a permit.
