Gallagher broker buys plus to add sales for lawyers, architects

Arthur J. Gallagher and Co., the Itasca-based insurance brokerage, bought Plus Cos. to add sales to clients including lawyers and architects.

Robert Ciuffreda of Bridgewater, New Jersey-based Plus will work under Gallagher's Joel Cavaness, according to a PR Newswire statement today from the buyer that didn't disclose terms.

Earlier this month Gallagher reported it is putting together government incentives to help move its headquarters from Itasca to Rolling Meadows.

The state of Illinois has a tentative agreement with Gallagher worth about $20 million, and the company is negotiating with Rolling Meadows to establish a tax increment financing district that might be worth $30 million.
