Safety fair in North Chicago:

North Chicago is hosting a public safety fair Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the city's police and fire departments, 1850 Lewis Ave. The event will offer a variety of public safety awareness booths and services including tours, activities for kids, free blood pressure checks, a CPR station and extrication and K-9 demonstrations. Representatives from Great Lakes Naval Station will provide fingerprinting kits and identity theft awareness, and other services will be available from the Illinois Attorney General's office.
