Lapeer County horse chased by coyotes
OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (AP) - A Lapeer County mare has been injured after being chased by coyotes at a farm in Oakland County.
Lieutenant Bruce Osmon, head of the Lapeer County Sheriff's Mounted Division, says that the horse was found on the ground with about a 2-foot-long gash on her abdomen by neighbors. The horse named Lady was taken care of by a veterinarian on a nearby farm.
The Flint Journal (http://bit.ly/1uQcVSr ) reports that Lady most likely cut herself by running into something while being chased by coyotes.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and wildlife specialists are investigating.
