Hoops For Hunger - St. John's Feeding Nicaragua

St. John's Lutheran Church and School, Lombard, is pleased to announce its 4th Annual Hoops for Hunger 3on3 Basketball Tournament and Silent Auction to be held on Saturday, September 26th from 9am-4pm in the school gymnasium.

All in the community are encouraged to enter teams of 3-4 players. Fourth grade through adult teams are welcomed to participate in the tournament. All players will receive a drawstring sports bag and winning teams a medal.

This year's silent auction boasts more than 100 items, including Blackhawks photos, spa packages, fitness memberships, entertainment tickets, restaurant gift cards and a variety of themed gift baskets. There will be a wide range of price points - something for everyone! Most items have been donated through the generous support of our local area businesses.

Concessions will be available during the event featuring both savory and sweet homemade goods - not to mention St. John's secret recipe sloppy joes!

All proceeds from this benefit will go directly to support the feeding program and ministry in Nicaragua which is funded by St. John's. The Nicaragua mission team travels at their own expense twice each year to distribute school supplies and hygiene kits, complete repairs in the rural schools and area church, and to oversee the successful distribution of food for children at the feeding center.
