Letter: Postcard misleading about candidate

I am a 37-year Barrington resident and have recently attended many meetings of the Barrington Village Board. As someone who is interested in local government, I know who my trustees are, and Margot Dallstream is not one of them. And yet, the first line on the back of the postcard I received from her said, "As a member of the board of trustees, Margot advocates to make Barrington a great place ...", obviously implying by the use of the present tense that she is an incumbent. She is not.

Further, in her candidate profile for the Daily Herald, she stated that her profession was "household manager" and her employer was "N/A." Yet, on the mailer, she states "She currently manages the group health plan for her husband's business."

The Daily Herald presented what one would assume is factual information on the candidates. And yet this mailer tries to make her sound more substantial than she is.

I thought the voters of Barrington should know the facts.
