Illinois football staff member arrested
URBANA - An Illinois football program staff member has been tentatively charged with driving under the influence.
According to court records, 32-year-old Ryan Cubit of Urbana was arrested early Sunday morning. He was released from Champaign County Jail on $3,000 bond.
Cubit has not yet entered a plea. He did not return an email from The Associated Press seeking comment and it's not clear whether he has an attorney.
Cubit is the director of football student-athlete development for the Illinois football team. He is also and the son of offensive coordinator Bill Cubit.
University sports information director Kent Brown on Monday declined comment.
