Sears will start an outdoor-clothing line with Bonnier Corp.
Sears Holdings Corp., the retailer controlled by Edward Lampert, is starting a clothing line with Bonnier Corp., publisher of Outdoor Life magazine.
The men's sportswear collection will be available from September both online and in more than 800 Sears stores containing retail space branded as Outdoor Life shops, the company said today in a statement.
Sears said last week it saw double-digit increases in clothing and shoe sales in its first quarter ended April 28. Known for its appliances and tools, the retailer has long struggled to lure shoppers for its soft goods.
Sears, based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, fell 4.5 percent to $55.31 on May 4. The shares have gained 74 percent this year.
