Sky releases Naperville’s Wisdom-Hylton

After playing 29 games last season, the Chicago Sky has waived forward Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton and trimmed its WNBA roster to 14 players.

Wisdom-Hylton, a Naperville native who as an all-Big Ten performer at Purdue University, was a reserve player in Chicago, averaging 1.7 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. The former Neuqua Valley star played two seasons with Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks before joining the Sky in 2011.

After signing veteran center Ruth Riley and all-star forward Swin Cash in the offseason, Wisdom-Hylton was a longshot to make the Sky roster.

The Sky opens the 2012 regular season in Washington on Saturday, May 19. The team’s home opener is set Friday, May 25, at Allstate Arena against Tamika Catchings and the Indiana Fever.
