Snowflake Shuffle Dec. 6 benefits TriCity Family Services

TriCity Family Service's Snowflake Shuffle Run/Walk will take place Saturday, Dec. 6.

Kick off the holidays, enjoy a winter run or walk and support mental health at the same time. The race is a holiday-inspired event that the whole family can enjoy that takes place at the Mill Creek Clubhouse and subdivision, 39W525 Herrington Drive, Geneva. Even Santa Claus will join the fun.

All ages, runners, walkers, strollers, teams, companies, schools and families are welcome. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome, too, on the racecourse. Holiday costume and spirit will be appreciated. For the most creative holiday costume, a "Snowflake Shuffle Spirit Award" will be presented.

The long-sleeve tech T-shirt are now be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis for $10 each. Registration fees are $35 for adults, age 18 and older; $25 for children and teens, ages 6 to 17; and free for children, age 5 and younger. Registration also will be available the day of the event. All proceeds from the Snowflake Shuffle benefit TriCity Family Services.

The 5K race will be professionally chip-timed by Realtiming Inc. The course is USATF certified. Split times will be given at every mile. For participants age 15 and older, medals will be presented to the top three males and females in each five-year age division. For participants, ages 6 to 14, medals will be presented to the top three males and females in each three-year age division.

Race check-in begins at 7 a.m., with the 5K race starting at 9 a.m. After the race, join in for holiday treats, awards and door prizes.
