No longer by and for the people

I am a World War II veteran, and in my lifetime I never thought I'd see the American dream and a country by the people and for the people fade away.

The people now days who are supposed to be in charge of running the country, the states and local governments are for themselves, or for the Democrat and Republican parties, not for the good of the country.

Oh, I'll still fly the American flag, but as the days go by I see things happen that never should, all because in our country now days, by the people and for the people is something of the past.
