Mother arrested after 2-year-old child dies in Detroit

DETROIT (AP) - Authorities say a Detroit woman has been arrested in connection with the death of her 2-year-old son.

The Detroit News, WXYZ-TV and WWJ-AM report the child was found unresponsive on Friday morning at an east-side home and taken to a hospital. Police say there were signs of force on the child's body that could have contributed to his death.

The child's father also was taken away by detectives but wasn't put in handcuffs.
