Police: Girl found in Milwaukee, mother arrested

MILWAUKEE - Police in the Milwaukee area say a missing 3-year-old girl has been found safe and her biological mother has been arrested.

The Greenfield Police Department said authorities found the toddler at a home in Milwaukee on Sunday after police received multiple tips. The girl was reported missing Saturday and had last been seen Thursday in Greenfield. Police said Sunday she is healthy and in protective custody.

Authorities at the residence also found the girl's mother, who doesn't have custody rights. Charges are pending.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the toddler's disappearance. WITI-TV reports the girl will be placed with her aunt, who is her legal guardian.
