Gun-free zones aren't helping

Wow, another shooting at a theater. Seems like it's open season on people everywhere you go.

This doesn't make any sense. There is a "No Guns" sign clearly posted at the entrance to all these places where shootings have occurred. Could it be that criminals don't care about these signs?

They know they will not meet any resistance from anyone in these "Gun-Free Zones." Perhaps if law abiding, well-trained people with a concealed-carry license were allowed to go into these areas, criminals would think twice about turning these GFZs in to a shooting gallery.

But alas, our government knows what's best for us. Just ask them. I'm sure there are many who will find this concept preposterous, but until we put more focus on identifying, reporting and treating mental health in this country, we will be reading about this nearly every week.

We also need to enforce the gun laws we already have, not make new ones that only affect the law abiding. If some of these clowns were in prison, where they belong, many of these crimes would not have happened.

So stop the plea bargaining and put some teeth in to these laws.
