People succeeded, not programs

Laughter in the morning is always a good start, and I haven't stopped laughing since reading a couple letters about the good old days and the WPA programs.

The people worked, not the programs, and the pay was less than minimum, but it was better than nothing. To think people today would do what our grandparents and parents had to do for family and country just brought tears to my eyes from laughter.

Wish what you want, but until people start to do for themselves and what is best for our country, we will never get off the bottom rung of life.

America today is about handouts and free stuff with no work needed. To keep voting just to get stuff given to you does not make a stronger society. It just weakens a once-proud country.

The WPA helped raise our nation up from dust, and now we just want to bury it from handouts. Thank God most of the hardest working generation is gone, so we don't have to look them in the eyes and tell them we will not do what you did.

How I hate progress.
