ButterBurgers and Badges at Culver's of Palatine
Culver's of Palatine had some extra help serving its guests during last month's Special Olympics Illinois (SOILL) fundraiser.
The first annual ButterBurgers and Badges event took place June 30 and closed out a month of fundraising for SOILL. More than 40 participating Chicagoland Culver's restaurants offered a special concrete mixer deal with $1 from each dessert sold donated to Special Olympics. Local law enforcement officers, who stopped by to serve guests throughout the night, collected tips for their table and drive-thru service, which also benefited the organization. In addition, local Special Olympics athletes were on-hand to meet and greet guests and sign autographs.
The program raised nearly $20,000 altogether for Special Olympics. Funds raised will help the organization continue its programs that provide year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
