LZHS jazz ensembles to present winter concert

The Lake Zurich High School jazz ensembles will present their winter concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the school's performing arts center, 300 Church St. The concert will begin with the Lake Zurich Jazz Lab Band performing "Coyote Café," "Uptown Blues" and "Not In the Mood." Jazz combo Mad Dog and the Allie-Cats will perform "The Girl from Ipanema" and "I'll be Home for Christmas." Concluding the concert is the Lake Zurich High School Jazz Ensemble featuring classic big band jazz, including "Movin' Uptown" by Benny Carter and "Christopher Columbus" for Fletcher Henderson's big band. The audience will also hear "The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe," "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most" and "Mambo En Sax" by Prado Perez.
