Food, music and culture highlight Taste of Serbia Festival

The St. Basil of Ostrog Serbian Orthodox Church in Mettawa continued its tradition this weekend of introducing Serbian food and culture to the community.

The two-day Taste of Serbia Festival ended Sunday with traditional cuisine, beverages and music, along with vendors selling music, books, jewelry and other items.

Festivalgoers on Sunday visited the church to light candles, watch a presentation about Serbian culture and learn about well-known Serbs in America.

Food offered included lamb, spit-roasted pork, stuffed cabbage rolls, authentic Serbian bread, sausages, shish kebabs, grilled corn and a variety of pastries. A children's area included giant inflatables and games.
