TCU receiver Josh Doctson out for rest of regular season

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - TCU star receiver Josh Doctson will miss the last two regular-season games for the No. 11 Horned Frogs because of an injured wrist.

Doctson was hurt Nov. 7 against Oklahoma State. He planted his hand on the turf after a catch, and a defender fell on his left arm. Doctson tried to play Saturday against Kansas but had only one catch for 12 yards.

Coach Gary Patterson said after practice Wednesday that Doctson "just can't play with it." The senior receiver saw another specialist this week.

On his Twitter account Wednesday night, Doctson, a former walk-on, wrote" ''It might have been my last time putting on the purple and black but I smile because it happened ... I'll always be a Frog!"

Doctson set TCU's single-season records this season with 79 catches, a national-leading 1,337 yards and 14 touchdowns. He is the career record holder with 29 TDs and 2,773 yards, and his 180 receptions are one short of that mark.

Before getting hurt, Doctson had at least 129 yards receiving with multiple touchdowns in each of the six previous games.

TCU (9-1, 6-1, No. 18 CFP) plays at No. 7 Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1 No. 7 CFP) on Saturday night, then closes the regular season at home against No. 10 Baylor (8-1, 5-1, No. 10 CFP) the night after Thanksgiving.
