Bears to bowl in Strikes For Kids in Lake Zurich

Strikes For Kids will be putting on their Strikes For Kids Chicago Bowling Classic from 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Brunswick Zone Deer Park in Lake Zurich. Bears Pro Bowl WR Alshon Jeffery will host this event as he and teammates trade in their clears for bowling shoes for a fun outing to raise money.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Strikes For Kids Giveaway Program and North Shore Youth Football Program.

Strikes For Kids is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization which partners with more than a hundred NFL athletes to benefit youth organizations in communities across the United States. They coordinate bowling, golf and softball events that allow local businesses, fans and the community an opportunity to come together for a fun-filled event, all while making a positive impact in the community.

There are many things that the youth football program does that they are proud of and work hard to support. First and foremost they are committed to the health and safety of the kids. As such they are the first youth football program in the state of Illinois to utilize the new Shadowman Tackling System which promotes heads up football while limiting contact during tackling drills. The youth program also brings together a diverse group of families and provides a richness of culture not often experienced in the children's daily lives.

The admission for the event is $25 per spectator, $40 per bowler or $200 for a team of six bowlers. Admission for bowlers includes two hours of bowling, pizza, unlimited soft drinks, goody bags, T-shirt, shoe rental and silent auction.

Brunswick Zone Deer Park is at 21080 N. Rand Road, Lake Zurich.
