Rolling Meadows man charged with failing to register as sex offender

A Rolling Meadows man with past sexual assault convictions was ordered held on $40,000 bail Thursday on charges he failed to register as a sex offender.
Jonathan Malnarick, of the 5000 block of Silent Brook Lane, could face up to five years in prison if convicted of the class 3 felony.
Malnarick has two convictions for sexual assault. He was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2007, said Cook County Assistant State's Attorney David Shin. In 2003, he was sentenced to three years in prison.
Malnarick next appears in court on May 14.
