Online sales buoy Indianapolis Girl Scout wounded by gunfire

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An Indianapolis Girl Scout who was shot in the leg as she headed to a meeting to pick up cookies is expected to be a top seller thanks to an online drive established after the shooting.

Nine-year-old Sinai (sih-NEYE') Miller was outside her family's apartment on Feb. 4 when she was shot in the left calf.

The shooting ended her plans to sell door to door, but Girl Scouts of Central Indiana launched an online sales drive called "Cookies for Sinai." Orders have poured in from around the country.

Scouting officials won't say how many boxes Sinai has sold, but CEO Deborah Hearn Smith tells The Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/1CFq8Am ) that the Scouts needed help from Amazon to get them delivered.
